Frequently asked questions

Quick answers before you rack up. The full guide lives inside the app once you sign in.

Is PoolStats free?

Yes. The Free plan is real and stays: track matches shot by shot, see your match stats, and log practice sessions at no cost. Pro and Gold are there when you want more, every game type, stats over your whole record, and the solo practice opponents. See the plans for what each one includes.

Which games can I track?

8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, 7-Ball and English Pool, each with a real rule engine behind it. English Pool follows the WEPF World Rules played in most pubs and leagues.

Do I need to install anything from an app store?

No. PoolStats runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. If you like, add it to your home screen and it opens like an installed app, no app store involved. It follows your device's light or dark look, or you can pick one in Settings.

To add it: on iPhone or iPad, open PoolStats in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap Install app in the PoolStats menu, or use Install in Chrome's own menu. On a computer, click the install icon that Chrome and Edge show at the right end of the address bar.

Do both players need an account?

No. One player records the match and that is all a match needs. If your opponent joins PoolStats later, they can claim their side of the match and it counts on their record too.

Do I have to log every shot?

Only if you want the full stats. The Shot Tracker records shot by shot and feeds every number PoolStats can compute. The Scoreboard keeps just the score, one tap per rack, and you can even enter a match after it was played.

Can I practice on my own?

Yes, two ways. Log practice sessions to keep your table time and drills on record, or play a full solo match against a Practice Ghost or a Bot opponent, part of the Gold plan.

Is my data private?

Yes. Nothing about you is public unless you choose to make it public. A match is visible to the people involved in it, the players and whoever recorded it. We show no ads, we never sell your data, and this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The details are in the privacy policy.

Is PoolStats still being developed?

Very much so. PoolStats is in early access and under active development, with new features shipping regularly. Early users get a real say in what comes next.
